JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts announced plans to open a new three hundred room hotel in Cabo San Lucas, which they expect to open for business in 2015.
The JW Marriott will be part of the two thousand acre planned
community of Puerto Los Cabos, just three miles northeast of San Jose del Cabo. The Puerto Los Cabos development includes residential homes, a marina, golf course, restaurants and retail shops. The property will
be operated by Marriott within the Puerto Los Cabos master-planned
development. Resort grounds are expected to occupy fourteen acres
overlooking the Sea of Cortez, and
offer more than eight hundred feet of beach front just seven miles from
Los Cabos
International Airport.
In
addition to 300 guest rooms and suites, the hotel will feature several restaurants. The resort will also convention and meeting space. Planned recreational amenities include a
swimming pool, spa, tennis courts and a state of the art fitness center. Other services will include full concierge and event planning, childrens centers, and a business center.
The new hotel development comes as good news to a region which has been heavily impacted by both the world economy as well as continued press about perceived violence in many parts of Mexico. Continued investment from a world leader in the hospitality industry such as Marriott speaks volumes about the long term outlook for tourism in one of the world's most beautiful regions!
